Ori the Octopus is the bright, engaging tale of Ori, his eight legs, and his desire to help his friends…The story is a celebration of teamwork, of friends rallying around each other, and that is something every young reader needs to learn about. The book also includes some helpful notes to teachers and parents about the characters and tips on how to talk about the character’ feelings with their children. In addition there are cut-out characters that look like a whole lot of fun for readers who want to get creative. Verushka Byrow. Children’s Book Council of Australia.

Highly recommended…Ori is a fantastic role model for children…asking for help can be hard…It models how to treat  your friends and how to help them. It is great for problem solving.” Kylie Kempster, ReadPlus.

A wonderful educational storybook resource about friendship and showing you care. This book appeals to any ages from 2 – 5 years old. With fun interactive games to share with your children. Just delightful. Looking forward to seeing more from this talented Australian Author Illustrator.

My toddler loved the book! The pictures are bright, colourful and interesting. The story itself has a lovely message about friendship and is very engaging due to repetitive language that almost becomes a song. She became very familiar with the Octopus and kept pointing him out .  The cut out pictures at the back was a great way to spend the afternoon and keep her entertained. Highly recommended as a gift or for your ow children, the book will be read over and over with some great characters to get to know and love!

“...a great piece of work for young children…But it’s much more than just a bedtime reading activity. There’s plenty of interaction encouraged too…and some practical elements with a peppering of craft, colouring-in cut-outs to entertain little fingers for at least a few minutes! Naive illustrations, happy sea animals, and a very congenial host octopus.” Rod Bennett, Manly Daily.

“I would sum it up for parents as a smart piece of publishing. If you are looking for a Christmas-themed book to put under the tree, Anne Donnelly’s offering matches it with bigger-named authors on bookstore shelves. It has beautiful production values with glossy pages and a very cool  pull-out craft mid-section…The narrative is well constructed and the learning process for the characters is an example to little readers in working together for the common good. A nice message wrapped in child-friendly Christmas fun.” Brydie Wright ‘Poo Book” blogFor full review click here:

Young children will be enraptured with the kinds of activities mentioned but will especially enjoy the interactions to complete the actions….Anne’s digital and watercolour illustrations are equally lively bright and reflect a sweet simplicity that children age two can identify with…Ori’s Christmas is a wam and well-considered book perfect for selling-reflection and celebration this festive season.” Romi Sharp, Just Write for Kids.

It will resonate with children, especially at Christmas time with the ideals of sharing and compromise…With bright, eye-catching illustrations, this is book is very different to the traditional Christmas stories…I could see this book being used as a short Christmas play within a classroom…I think this…would make a welcome addition to the school library collection or a great stocking filler” Kathryn Schumacher, ReadPlus.
